West Kintyre

A'Chleit Beach & Church

This lovely church was built in1787-91 by local builder Thomas Cairns. It is situated on the west coast of Kintyre just of the main A83 road. You can park beside the sea overlooking the rocks and a beautiful sandy beach. The beach usually quite quiet and has impressive views across to Gigha and Jura.
The beach can be accessed via a purpose built wooden platform with steps that lead down from the church.
