Gigha
Gigha, named by the Vikings 'Gudey', 'The Good Isle' or 'God's Isle', has been community owned since 2002. With only a short 20 minute ferry trip from mainland Kintyre, Gigha is one of the more accessible hebridean islands. A truly breathtaking island with white sandy beaches and beautiful bays, crystal clear seas, stunning views, amazing sunsets, gently sloping hillsides, as well as a huge variety of archaeology and wildlife. Whatever the time of year you can immerse yourself in the colours of Achamore Gardens.
You can leave your car on the mainland and explore the island at leisure by foot or bike, making use of the extensive path network guiding you to all of the best sites on the island.
It is such a special place that once you visit, you will always want to return.
