Tarbert and Skipness

The picturesque fishing village of Tarbert is the gateway to Kintyre and for a small place, it offers an abundance of options to keep you there.

Tarbert Castle might be in ruins, but the historic site is well worth exploring plus you will be rewarded with a stunning view.

Independent businesses thrive on the waterfront and there are plenty options for refreshments including locally landed sea food.

A few miles down the scenic B8001 lies the peaceful hamlet of Skipness which is overlooked by the impressive 13th-century Skipness Castle.  Climb the battlements and enjoy the spectacular views of Arran.

Don’t miss out on the Skipness Smokehouse or the seasonal Skipness Seafood Cabin.
